TECHNO-LEGAL CYBER
SECURITY TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL CENTRE OF INDIA
Cyber Security in India
has to cover a long gap in India. Cyber
security is
crucial to protect
businesses, governments and general public at large. The same must be a
part of
the national policy of any nation. This is more so regarding “Wireless Security in
India”.
Wireless security has become a headache due to its misuse by terrorists
in India.
A
weak cyber security policy in India
is
also resulting in increased cyber terrorism activities
in India.
We
have to device techno-legal cyber security methods to
tackle
cyber terrorism in India.
Another
crucial aspect related to
a secure and strong cyber security in India
pertains to critical ICT
infrastructure protection in India.
Critical infrastructure is becoming increasingly dependent upon ICT
these days.
If we are unable to secure an ICT system we are also risking critical
ICT
infrastructure as well.
The
hi-tech crimes involving and
using integrated circuits and Internet would be the future cyber crimes
trend
in India.
There
is inadequate cyber security in India
particularly for wireless networks. This makes "wireless hacking"
possible and that is often used for committing cyber crimes and other
purposes.
Wireless hacking is, generally, a four step process that includes war
driving,
victim identification, passwords and encryption keys sniffing and
finally
hacking. If MAC filtering is in place the offender may go for the MAC
address
spoofing to trick the authentication process. We must secure our
wireless
networks on the one hand and adopt sound and stringent Crisis
Management
Strategies against terrorism in India
on
the other hand.
It
is at this stage the
importance of a “Techno-Legal regime” comes into
play. To
start with we must ensure
a strong and effective Legal Enablement of
ICT Systems in India.
The
same must also be supported by Cyber Forensics
Capabilities
in India.
The ICT Trends of India
2009
have shown a bleak progress in this regard in India.
A
sound cyber security policy of India
is
also going to benefit the “Indian Outsourcing
Industry”
that may face
difficulties and harsh decisions in the absence of Data Protection Law
in India, Privacy Rights
Protection Laws in India,
Inadequate Cyber Security in India,
etc.
Perry4Law
resolves these
issues for the larger
benefit of India’s
Socio-Economic Structure. Similarly, Perry4Law Techno-Legal Base (PTLB)
and Perry4Law
Techno-Legal ICT Training
Centre (PTLITC) meet basic level and higher and domain specific
Techno-Legal
Cyber Security Training requirements respectively.
